My ceramic stoneware sculptures were based on animal forms, such as seabirds viewed from my window. Birds perching on tall posts, rocks looking out to sea, or fish captured for posterity and presented as trophies, all provided ample scope for exploring different lines.

Other works included handcrafted decorative earthenware bowls with painted chickens roaming round the rims or handfuls of daisies scattered in oval platters. Goldfish sometimes replaced daisies in bowls - providing a greater emphasis on movement and play. At the moment I do not have easy access to clay facilities, but never say never …
